abInitio Optics was founded to help scientists benefit from the high quality and low costs of research grade parts fabricated by the booming optics industry in China by Thomas Jarvis, PhD, a physicist with over fifteen years of professional optics experience. Prof. Jarvis has worked on a broad range of optical problems in academia and industry, including ultracold atoms, ultrafast spectroscopy, twisted light, negative index of refraction metamaterials, biosensors, OLEDs, and others. While working on a NASA funded research program, he developed working relationships with optics manufacturers from Fuzhou to Montreal, and so many points in between.
